Through the Multi-Year Resilience Program “Aprender Sin Barreras” (Learning Without Barriers) in Peru, RET is working alongside dedicated educators to transform classrooms into safe, inclusive, and protective environments. Teachers receive specialized training to adapt learning materials, address diverse educational needs, and foster social integration. By equipping educators with the skills to support vulnerable children, we are ensuring that the classroom remains a powerful shield and a place of belonging where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

1️⃣ Contigo Venezuela: Emergency Appeal 

RET teams are on the ground are prioritizing children’s protection, psychosocial support, and educational continuity following the June 24 double earthquake.  

“Our priority right now is making sure children and families are safe, that communities have access to reliable information, and that we can support schools to reopen as quickly and as safely as possible,” said Remi Mannaert, President and CEO of RET Americas. “We are also paying close attention to the psychosocial impact on children and communities. After a traumatic event like this, that support needs to start from day one.”

2️⃣ Mauritania: Building Stronger School Nutrition Systems in M’bera Camp 

RET and WFP organized a two-day nutrition training for 127 canteen staff across eight schools in M’bera refugee camp, covering food safety, hygiene, and balanced meal preparation. 

An inter-school culinary competition followed, with School 3 taking first place. “If we had these meals every day, no child would stay home.”

3️⃣ Lebanon: A Spark in Akkar and Halloum’s Journey from Learning to Earning 

Halloum Moussa joined a digital marketing training in Akkar and left with her first real client. Her team delivered a full advertising campaign for a local clothing shop, including photography, branded content, social media, and one video that hit 39,000 views. 

In a region where opportunity is scarce, Halloum didn’t just find a way through; she brought her whole team with her.

4️⃣ Ecuador: Children on the Move – An Education Space to Keep Moving Forward

For children and adolescents in mobility, continuous access to education is a vital protective shield. In northern Ecuador, RET is providing safe, dedicated “Education Spaces” that offer non-formal learning opportunities, psychosocial support, and secure environments. 

These crucial spaces ensure transit-bound young people do not lose their fundamental right to learn, build peer relationships, and discover stability amidst displacement.
