AKKAR, LEBANON – During the 16 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women, funded by BMZ and implemented by RET Germany in cooperation with GATE Lebanon and Key of Life, communities in Akkar, North Lebanon came together for a series of practical and engaging sessions designed to strengthen well‑being, awareness, and resilience.

Building Confidence and Expression

The campaign opened with a dynamic physical activity session that helped participants build confidence, reduce stress, and explore the connection between body strength, emotional balance, and positive decision‑making. This was followed by a creative art workshop, where drawing became a tool for emotional expression, reflection on personal challenges, and discovering healthy coping strategies.

Supporting Families and Youth

Mothers gathered for an open conversation on digital safety, sharing concerns and experiences while reinforcing their role as supportive guides at home. At the same time, youth joined discussion circles to explore responsible behavior, peer support, and how small actions can spark positive change within their communities.

Nutrition for Resilience

A final session on healthy nutrition highlighted how balanced eating habits boost energy, focus, and self‑confidence—reinforcing the vital link between physical well‑being and overall resilience.

Collective Impact

Across these sessions, youth, women, girls, and mothers found safe and supportive spaces to learn, express themselves, and build new skills. The campaign concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony attended by 110 participants, including beneficiaries, partner organizations, community members, and local authorities.

In total, the initiative reached 270 participants, many of whom shared how the sessions strengthened their confidence, broadened their perspectives, and encouraged healthier, safer choices in daily life.

Moving Forward

This campaign not only raised awareness but also deepened community understanding and promoted responsible engagement both online and offline. It stands as a powerful example of how collective action can empower individuals and inspire lasting change.
